What does ICC Declined mean?

By May 7, 2019 March 10th, 2020 Help Articles, Troubleshooting

An ICC Declined error doesn’t mean that your customer’s card doesn’t have enough funds. It usually means that the card does not allow the specific type of transaction you are trying to process, for example, an offline transaction or a purchase with cash transaction.

This error can also occur when your EFTPOS terminal’s chip card reader is not working properly.

If this is the case then you can:

  • Reboot your terminal
  • Check there is nothing obstructing the chip card reader
    • NOTE: Do NOT insert any objects into the reader or apply cleaning products

If your terminal frequently displays this error message, contact our Technical Support team to arrange a Field Service Representative visit or a replacement EFTPOS terminal.
