This checklist will help you prepare your website for assessment by your bank when applying for a merchant facility

To integrate Verifone Checkout with your website for online payments, you will need a merchant facility from your bank. Your bank will assess your website based on specific criteria.

Business information

  • Business Name: Your legal and trading name must be clearly displayed.

  • Location Details: Your principal business address must be visible on the checkout page or accessible via linked pages.

  • Contact Information: Include an email address and phone number (and optionally a fax number) for both your main business location and customer service.

  • Business Description: Provide a clear description of the goods or services for sale. Be aware that high-risk goods and services may lead to application rejection.

Customer policies

  • Delivery Details: Clearly state estimated delivery times and available shipping methods.

  • Cancellation, Return & Refund Policies: Outline your policies for cancellations, returns, and refunds.

  • Export Conditions: Specify any restrictions on exporting goods or services.

  • Additional Charges: Disclose any extra fees beyond the base price of goods and services.

  • Consumer Data Privacy Policy: Clearly state how customer data is collected, stored, and used.

Payment & security requirements

  • Terms & Conditions: Must be displayed on the checkout screen (or linked before checkout) and require a ‘tick-to-accept’ agreement.

  •   Business Location Statement: Clearly state that your business operates in New Zealand.

Currency requirements

  • Display Prices in NZD: Prices must be shown in New Zealand dollars (NZD or $NZ).

  • Transaction Billing Statement: Clearly state that all transactions are billed in New Zealand dollars.
