Congratulations! If you’re reading this, you’ve made the decision to sign up with us.
If you’re switching to us from another provider your friendly Eftpos NZ sales representative may have offered you a period of free EFTPOS terminal rental to ease the transition.
There are some important details you should know about making the most of your free terminal rental.
Your new Eftpos NZ equipment will either be installed for you by one of our Field Service representatives or sent to you by courier for you to install yourself.
IMPORTANT: When you receive your new Eftpos NZ EFTPOS terminal don’t return your existing equipment to your current provider.
It’s an industry standard to require 90 days written notice before the end of your contract term to cancel the agreement without penalty. If you terminate the agreement with your current provider prior to the end of your term or return the equipment, your provider will invoice you for the balance of the remaining term and they may include an exit fee.
This can be a lot to pay at once especially if cashflow is tight in your business.
Instead, keep your current equipment in a safe place until you can provide notice to your current provider within the notice period. Only return the equipment to your current provider when you are advised to do so.
This way, your current provider will continue to charge you monthly terminal rental fees until the end of your current term with them, but they won’t send you a large one-off invoice to pay all at once. You won’t be paying both your current provider and Eftpos NZ thanks to the free rental period on your Eftpos NZ contract.
We recommend digging out your agreement with your current provider to confirm what the notice period is and setting yourself a reminder to send written notice to avoid your contract with your current provider automatically renewing.
