Will My EFTPOS Terminal Still Work After The 3G Network Shutdown?
The 3G network is shutting down in New Zealand. If your EFTPOS terminal runs on 3G, it will stop working. This guide explains what to expect and how to stay connected.
What is the 3G network shutdown?
The 3G mobile network is being phased out by New Zealand’s major mobile providers to make way for newer, faster technologies like 4G and 5G. Once the 3G network is turned off, any device that relies solely on 3G will no longer be able to connect to the mobile network.
If your EFTPOS terminal uses 3G only, it will stop working once the 3G network is shut down. If your terminal supports 4G (or higher), it will continue to work as normal.
How do I know if my terminal uses 3G?
-
