Tipping

Offer your customers the option to leave a tip, and track staff tips using the Shift Totals app

Set up tipping

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
  2. Tap the App Launcher button
  3. Tap 'Device Manager' app
  4. Select Configuration Options, then Merchant

  5. Toggle tipping on or off, and customise the predefined tip percentages shown to customers

NOTE: Merchant configuration settings are protected by the Manager Passcode 

Processing a tip

  1. Enter the transaction amount and tap Purchase

  2. If operators are set up in the Shift Totals app, the terminal will prompt you to select an operator

  3. The customer will be prompted to:

    • Select a predefined tip amount

    • Enter a custom tip

    • Or skip tipping

  4. Customer presents their card, enters their PIN (if required), and the transaction is processed
