Some payment methods and functionality can be updated by Eftpos NZ, while others require assistance from your merchant bank or other providers.
NOTE: Want to add surcharging, pre-authorisation or multi-merchant to your terminal? You can add these EFTPOS add-ons by calling our Customer Service team on 0800 EFTPOS (0800 338 767, option 3). Note that fees may apply.
Cash-out & Purchase with Cash
Our Technical support team can remove certain menu options from your terminal like Purchase/Cash or Cash Out. Call our Technical Support team on 0800 EFTPOS, option 2, or submit a request here.
Credit cards
The bank that provides your merchant facility can set up and manage Visa and Mastercard acceptance for you.
Contactless
If you would like to add or remove Contactless ('Paywave') payments you will need to contact your merchant bank.
Refunds
If you would like to add or remove Refunds from your terminal you will need to contact your merchant bank.
On Android EFTPOS your refund facility is protected by passcodes. Once your refund facility is set up, call our Technical Helpdesk on 0800 338 767 and they will guide you through setting up a six-digit manager passcode and a four-digit cashier passcode.
IMPORTANT: Note that only listed account signatories can set up a passcode
MOTO
If you would like to add or remove MOTO from your terminal you will need to contact your merchant bank. Learn more about setting up a Virtual Terminal facility for MOTO payments.
Third-party payment methods
The bank that provides your merchant facility can set up and manage Visa and Mastercard acceptance for you, but if you want to accept other payment methods like AMEX, Q card, Afterpay, Farmers Card or gift cards, you need to set up a facility directly with the payment method provider.
