You can add a custom reference to your transactions. The reference is searchable in your Order History, using Advanced Search to lookup transactions from the last 6 months.
To add a merchant reference to a transaction:
- Tap the icon once you’ve entered the transaction amount on the Payment screen, but before you tap ‘Purchase’ or ‘Other’
- Type the reference into the ‘Merchant Reference’ field and tap OK
The reference will display on the Merchant receipt and in the transaction detail in your Transaction History. You can also use a merchant reference to search for the transaction in your Transaction History.
How can I use merchant reference?
Use unique values to find a particular transaction in a hurry, or group transactions using a similar reference. For example, you could add:
- your customers’ last names
- customer loyalty numbers
- the salespersons name
- services offered
- invoice or order numbers
- tab numbers
