What’s a third-party card?
The bank that provides your merchant facility can set up and manage Visa and Mastercard acceptance for you, but if you want to accept other cards like AMEX, Q card, Farmers Card or gift cards, you need to set up a facility directly with the card provider. This is why we call these cards ‘third-party’ cards.
Making changes to your merchant facility
If you change your payment network, you will need a new (Merchant ID) MID from your bank. To make sure you can continue accepting all your third-party cards on your new MID you need to advise any third-party cards you accept what your new MID is so they can update your merchant facility.
How to check which cards you accept
If your device/s are connected to the Paymark network, the fastest way to check which cards you accept is to call Paymark on 0800 PAYMARK (0800 729 627).
If your device/s are connected to the Verifone network, call 0800 EFTPOS (option 4). Our customer services team can advise which cards you accept.
