Check Pinpad error message

If your terminal displays a Check Pinpad error when trying a transaction try the following steps:

Restart your terminal

  1. Turn the VX 520C upside down
  2. Remove the VX 820 pinpad cable
  3. Rotate and unplug the power cord
  4. Wait a few seconds
  5. Reconnect the power cable
  6. Reconnect the pinpad cable
  7. Wait until the VX 520C returns to the main screen and the VX 820 pinpad displays the Verifone idle screen
  8. Select Menu and scroll down until you see Logon
  9. Select Logon
  10. If this says Approved, you are good to go.
