VX 690 – My terminal printer is not working

If your terminal is not printing receipts correctly you can try the following:

Changing the paper roll

Locate the printer cover latch just above where the paper feeds out. Lift this latch up on the side next to the clear plastic cover and the printer cover will hinge open.

Note: The correct paper roll dimensions for this terminal model are 57mm x 38mm

Paper not feeding

  • Restart your EFTPOS terminal by taking it off the charging base, holding in the red X key until it shuts down, then holding in the green Enter key until it turns on
  • Check that the paper is feeding from the underside of the roll with the shiny side facing the printer cutter
  • Are you using the correctly-sized paper roll? If the roll is too large you may need to remove extra paper until the printer lid closes properly

Paper feeding but not printing or receipts have vertical black lines

  • Restart your EFTPOS terminal by taking it off the charging base, holding in the red X key until it shuts down, then holding in the green Enter key until it turns on
  • Check that the paper is feeding from the underside of the roll with the shiny side facing the printer cutter
  • Clean the printer head:
    • Open the printer cover
    • Remove the paper roll
    • Locate the printer head (a green strip just below the cutter) and wipe it with a clean, dry cloth
  • Check the battery level of the terminal – if this is too low the EFTPOS terminal will stop printing to save power
